SCALA has presented a showcase for live original music almost every week since 2nd December 1987. That's right 1987! Here you'll find who played on what date and at which venue SCALA has presented its original music showcase. A staggering number of performers and original music hours per year.
If you're looking for a particular venue and a particular year here's the dates that we were at each pub, club and café:
- Club Foote - December 1987 to May 1988 (mainly Tuesdays - some Wednesdays)
- Stamps Café - June 1988 to December 1988 (Thursdays)
- Lenins Café - August 1988 to September 1988 (Sundays)
- Duke of York Hotel - January 1989 to August 1990 (Wednesdays)
- MusicWorks (Lion Arts Centre) - May 1989 to August 1990 (Sundays - monthly)
- Gilbert Hotel - September 1990 to February 1991 (Wednesdays)
- Lord Melbourne Hotel
- (SLAMM) February 1991 to May 1991 (Sundays)
- March 1991 to July 1991 (Wednesdays)
- Duke of Brunswick - August 1991 to April 1993 (Wednesdays)
- Jolly Miller Hotel - June 1993 to March 1996 (Wednesdays)
- The Office - April 1996 to June 2001 (Wednesdays - Thursdays from December 2000; SCALA OnePlugged on 1st Monday each month)
- The Directors Hotel - From June 2001 to June 2003 (Saturdays)
- The Joiners Arms - From June 2003 (Saturdays)
We have also presented a series of Songwriters at Burnside Library since 2005.
Note: Surprisingly, most records of who played at our venues have been retained (and will be progressively posted on this site). If you know of any errors in the SCALA performance archives please let us know. We'd also welcome any photos of acts from past years!
