SCALA in conjunction with Burnside Council Library presents Songwriters performing monthly at Burnside Library (cnr Greenhill and Portrush, Roads, Tusmore) in the Library Foyer (starting at 3pm). This initiative started in 2005 as the Young Songwriters Showcase (see archive details below).

Andra is an award winner singer-songwriter whose material ranges from achingly beautiful love songs to children's songs. A must see! |
David Robinson
David has won a number of awards for his songs, has released 2 CDs of his own and has featured on a good many compilation albums. He also judges in song competitions when he's not bushwalking or cycling. |

Gloria Albanese
Gloria was the most successful songwriter in the SCALA 2004 Festival of Original Music song competition. She was a co-winner in both the live and demo open sections, and also picked up a Star encouragement award. The winning songs are on the SCALA Over The Edge CD. All this just after becoming one of the five finalists in Australia to perform as part of the Glen Shorrock music scholarship awards. |
Courtney Robb
Courtney won a Star award in SCALA’s song competition in 2004 and is building a reputation as a unique, natural singer with a haunting voice. She will release her new CD in November. |

Sarah Clifton
Sarah is a breathtaking singer/songwriter who has "played a few gigs". Her songs range from love and relationships to giving up smoking! |
Ali Burnett
Ali learned the piano from an early age and was inspired by her teacher to write harmonies to cover songs. Her confidence gradually grew and eventually she performed some of the songs that she started writing at the age of 12. Last year she won a Star Encouragement Award in SCALA’s Festival of Original Music song competition. |

Catherine Blanch
Catherine is a long term SCALA member who has won many awards for her songs which can be found on a number of SCALA CDs. |
Danny
Danny started singing and writing songs with his friends as a teenager. An active member of the Hillbilly Hoot for the past 7 years, recently he was involved in a production Masks of War by the Blackwood Players, both acting and singing. He also performs regularly with SCALA. |

Esther Lamb
Esther has written and directed award winning short films, musicals, documentaries and film clips but decided on songwriting as the best way to tell her stories. Esther’s first song won the ‘Headroom’ award in South Australia. In 2005 she received a top 10 placing in the ASA Song Competition (Folk Division). She has a 5 track CD available entitled Secret Heart |
Rachel Cearns
Rachel Cearns received a Star award in the 2003 SCALA song competition and was a finalist in 2004. Her influences include Ani DiFranco, Ella Hooper, George, Jack Johnson, Joni Mitchell, Alanis Morrisette and Maynard James Keenan. |

Katie Greenhalf
Katie started writing songs at the age of 13 and first entered SCALA's song competition in 2003. In 2005 she was one of the Live section winners. She also appeared in the musical The Sentimental Bloke last year. |
