Emailing SCALA

Over 90% of the email which SCALA receives is SPAM - unwanted and irrelevant to SCALA. Much of this spam contains viruses, trojans, adware or other malware or it's about ridiculous scams or "phishing" or it consists of offers to buy (often dubious) commercial products or services completely irrelevant to our association. ALL of the spam which SCALA receives and ALL emails containing VIRUSES are AUTOMATICALLY DELETED WITHOUT OPENING.

As spam is identified, amongst other things, by the nature of the subject header and the (apparent) sender's name or email address, anyone who wants to send us an email should ensure that their Subject Header is specific to the subject of the email (eg it might mention songwriting, composing or lyric writing) rather than providing a general subject like "Hello" or "Please Read" or having no subject at all. Please avoid writing subjects totally in CAPITAL LETTERS (like that!).

Emails in plain text are preferred to those in Rich Text or HTML formats.

Please do not send unsolicited attachments to emails.

Please do not send unsolicited lyrics or sound files. We encourage anyone seeking feedback on their lyrics or music to enter our annual Song Competition.

We encourage organisations (or bands or individuals) with relevant information which they want distributed to our members to include the details in a plain text email and not in large attached pdfs or graphics. We also encourage anyone with relevant information to use our Message Board.

And, then, maybe we won't think your email is spam and not read it!
