Glenn RyderGlenn was born in Mt Isa in Queensland and grew up in Blackall. He has worked as a jackaroo, fencer, concreter and currently is a shearer. He has been on the road with a caravan travelling from state to state shearing for about eight years now and this has made him realise there's so much to see in this country.Glenn has always written songs as a hobby until this year when he has devoted more time finding out all he can about songwriting, even travelling from Hamilton in Victoria to one of SCALA's workshops earlier in the year. Glenn says he's not interested in fame but he says "you have to be known to open doors to hopefully write for some of the big stars - my passion is for songwriting." Glenn won the 2008 FOOM Demo section with two of his songs - the first time he'd entered FOOM. Copyright © Glenn Ryder 2008
