Esme MacDonald

Esme MacDonald

Esme has been at the music game for many years, mainly in Europe and for the last three years in South Australia. He had most success as bassist for rock band Penthouse, who were critically acclaimed and signed to the Beggars Banquet label. Other diversions have included singing in a band with the drummer of Madness and time served as a tour manager/ driver with the likes of Samantha Fox, Pavement and Groove Amanda, to name a few.

In 2007 Esme had built a studio in the Adelaide Hills and was in three bands; playing guitar with Wintergreen (celtic band which played a number of interstate festivals in 2006), acoustic duo Two Fingers - now renamed The Es and M Project - and Outland Brothers (formed with Matthew Aulich, formerly of Tasmania's Paradise Motel). More recently (2008) he formed a new duo - Ladybird Johnson.

    Sean Mangan

    Sean Mangan

    Sean won the 1988 Songwriters Event with Terry Mac and has won many other awards in various song competitions. A versatile instrumentalist, Sean plays both guitar and clarinet, not usually simultaneously. He's played in many groups including Pitchblende, Dark Island and the Robert Childs Elastic Band. He currently plays in and writes most of the songs for the duo, General Tundish with wife, Ingrid.

    Rob McDade

    Rob McDade

    Award winner Rob McDade has been playing guitar for over 20 years, always focussing on original composition. He has performed in bands, composed music for live theatre, local television and film (including the documentary 1956 Flood, produced in 2006), and is now focussing on a solo career.

    Rob is influenced heavily by the guitarists Steve Howe, David Gilmour, Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Jimmy Page, Michael Hedges, Will Ackerman, and a host of others - all of whom are reflected in his own music.

    Rob has released two full length CDs - Earthrock (2002) and Touched By The Sun (2003) and he will be releasing his next album, Terrafirma, in 2007.



    Adrian Miller

    Adrian Miller

    Adrian is a multi-award winning songwriter and lyricist who has also been a FOOM judge. Some of his songs written in collaboration with Sydney songwriter Malcolm McCallum were released on the CD Dogs on the Beach in 2004. Adrian also features on a number of SCALA's CDs.

    He has played keyboards in a number of bands, including the Robert Childs Elastic Band, and is having guitar lessons. Adrian currently plays with songwriter and guitarist Gregory Wright as a duo, adding bass and/or drums when available.

    Brendan Mooney

    Brendan Mooney

    Brendan has been writing guitar-based songs for 15 years. He was a long-term member of the gospel choir "Cafe of the Gate of Salvation" in Sydney, wrote and recorded songs with them. He moved from Sydney to Adelaide about four years ago and has been performing with several bands at various venues but is now focused on establishing a career playing only originals.
